The daily habit that protects you from diabetes

Coffee lovers have been receiving good news lately. Here’s what the latest research on the consumption of this drink says: Researchers have found that people who constantly drink coffee live longer, and now, a study quoted by time.com suggests that some components of this drink can protect you against type 2 diabetes.

The new findings appeared in the “Natural Products Journal”. Researchers say they identified two coffee components that lower the risk of diabetes: cafestol and caffeic acid, which regulate blood sugar levels and increase insulin production. When a person suffers from diabetes, he becomes resistant to insulin and the blood glucose level oscillates, so the two substances are beneficial.

Symptoms of type-2 Diabetes

Diabetes affects millions of people annually, so it is good to recognize the disease from its first symptoms. This condition is also known as the “silent killer,” because its signs can be overlooked, so you need to be careful about the changes that take place in your body. If you notice that you are thirsty in excess and frequent urination, you may have diabetes. The kidneys work harder to get rid of excess glucose in the blood, so the patient wakes up several times during the night. Thirst occurs because the body is trying to replace the loss of fluid.

An excessive rise in blood sugar may also cause an unexplained weight loss. Because the cells do not get enough glucose to use as energy, the body thinks they are stinging and starts to consume protein in the muscle. The kidneys also work harder to get rid of excess sugar, so many calories are lost, and the patient gets weaker.

Excessive hunger is another sign of diabetes. When the glucose level drops dramatically, the body thinks it has not received food for long.

Itchy skin appears because of poor circulation and is often a sign of diabetes. If you get sick, you may notice darker spots on your neck and sub-area. Cuts and wounds heal slowly when you have this disease because the blood vessels are damaged by excess glucose in the arteries and veins.

How to prevent diabetes

If you want to prevent diabetes, try to get rid of extra pounds, eat healthy and be active. These are the simplest steps you can take to be healthy. Test your blood sugar regularly and go to your doctor if you get out more than three times in a row. If you have cases of diabetes in the family, it is also the doctor who will determine if there is any risk of getting the disease and how you can protect yourself.
